Quit Smoking using the power of Hypnotherapy

Are you a smoker?

Would you like to Quit Smoking using a hypnotic approach in just 2 hours?

It’s fairly well accepted now that smoking causes damage to our health and the proof is shown to us just about everywhere we look. Many smokers start to smoke during the adolescent years when they wanted to ‘experiment’ and ‘feel grown up’ or ‘cool’, often wanting to be accepted by their peers or feel part of a group.

Adults may start smoking for other reasons for example: when under pressure, stressed or anxious believing that this is a way of calming them.  After a while this becomes a habit and is often linked to other behaviours such as: drinking alcohol, after eating a meal, after sex or just socializing with friends.

Some people smoke to control their weight as this helps to reduce a person’s appetite and can lessens their sense of taste and smell. This could be why ex-smokers gain weight after quitting cigarettes as their sense of smell and taste improves.

There are some people who say they love to smoke, it gives them confidence, pleasure and makes them feel good.

Whatever your reasons we still have to accept that smoking is harmful for our health!

Let’s just remind ourselves of some of the risks when smoking:

Smoking may also affect baby’s health before and after birth:

·       Stillbirth (death of the baby before birth)

·       Preterm (early) delivery

·       Inflammation and adverse effects on immune function

·       Rheumatoid arthritis

Why is it so hard to stop smoking?

A study issued through the Journal of Applied Psychology demonstrates that hypnosis is 3 times more efficient at assisting someone give up smoking than nicotine replacement, and 15 times more efficient than making use of will power alone. Studies have shown that nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) and willpower might not be the most effective methods in order to quit smoking; in reality, hypnotherapy has been described as being respectively 3 times and 15 times stronger.

Physical dependence on smoking typically has quite a small element in the total dependency. Generally, the obsession is embedded in the subconscious – the place where almost all of our habits and feelings stem from. Therefore, it is no wonder that nicotine patches usually fail to cure cigarette smokers of their dependency in the long run. With all the focus on the physical addiction, the mental addiction to smoking remains unresolved, and therefore your instinctive behaviour is likely to take over again and it’s not long before you head back to your previous strategies.

Why use Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is recognized by the medical profession now and considered a real ‘drug free alternative treatment’ that could help a person make positive health and life changes.

It has been used in psychological treatments since the 1950s, when psychiatrist Milton H. Erickson showed the potential of hypnosis as an aid to traditional therapy. With hypnosis, people experience a state of complete mental, physical and emotional relaxation and a heightened state of awareness, which is a normal, natural and healthy state of mind.

It has often been likened to the feelings we experience just before drifting off to sleep or on waking. Some people say it feels like daydreaming. In itself, this is a very healing state. Dr Milton Erickson described the process of clinical hypnosis as “a free period in which individuality can flourish”.

When experiencing hypnosis, the conscious mind takes a rest and allows the hypnotherapist to tap into our subconscious (or unconscious mind) the storehouse of information using visualization, smells, tastes, feelings, and makes positive changes to thought patterns, habits or negative behaviours. You are not unconscious and you will be aware of the therapist talking to you throughout the session guiding you with positive suggestions to help the subconscious mind bring about positive changes to your unwanted habits.

Because it is a state of natural deep relaxation, there will be many times in our daily lives we have experienced hypnosis without being aware of it because our subconscious mind takes over. It is safe, and effective.

Using hypnotherapy will help a smoker to make this radical change in just two hours and when you look at the data, it looks to be the best way of getting rid of this damaging habit.

When you choose hypnotherapy to stop smoking the therapist will enable you to change the fundamental beliefs that are supporting your current smoking habits by locating the triggers that create the smoking behaviour. You will receive an in-depth evaluation, which will help to tailor the hypnotherapy session to your particular needs, ensuring it is more powerful. You have to be committed 100% to want to quit smoking and have the strength of mind to be successful. This is what Alastair did and he is still a NON-SMOKER! (see video)

Research now suggests that a hypnotic approach is the most efficient way to stop smoking, and an article in the New Scientist supported this theory with the largest scientific analysis of ways of breaking the behaviour.
