Joseph’s story (for confidential reasons we have changed the name)

A gentleman came to see me for help with lack of confidence and a sense of being overwhelmed at times creating feelings anxiety and depression. He had experienced a number of episodes in the past and taken anti-depressants but this time he had decided to seek help and try to understand what was triggering these feelings.

His GP had referred him to a counsellor and was on the waiting list for 6 months, when a neighbour whom I had seen for similar problems, suggested to him that he should book an appointment to see me to help him with his anxiety and depression.

We initially looked at any underlying health problems that could be contributing to his depression, and then we started to explore his feelings of anxiety using NLP, Time Line Therapy and Hypnotherapy. We found that his lack of confidence and the resulting anxiety & depression were due to events that happened during the early years of his life between the age of 7 -16 years.

Over a number of sessions we were able to revisit these events using Time Line Therapy and to ‘let go’ of the emotions attached to the events. The client reported a massive change in the way he felt and was able to cope in situations, which he had previously found very difficult.

This was his testimonial

"After 6 long months of waiting to start NHS counseling services for depression, I was most fortunate in having a recommendation from a friend to seek Alma's services.    After six consultations over a short four month period, I have been surprised as to how much better I now feel to enable me to return to a more normal life having now only the exceptional need of Alma’s services on an 'ad hoc' basis.

I found Alma's approach to treatment focused in a relaxing and meaningful way, shining a light into the mysteries and depths of depression.”
